XP

Not to be confused with Experience.

XP (formerly Tokens and Keys, originally Coins) is a currency in Brawl Stars that can be earned by completing Quests. It is also awarded whenever a new event opens. XP is used to advance tiers in the Brawl Pass. XP Doublers can be bought from the Shop with Gems or obtained for free from Starr Drops to double the amount of XP earned from completing quests.

Sources

• 5 XP is awarded upon tapping on an Event slot when a new Event has come into rotation.
• 10 XP is awarded for voting on Candidates of the Day maps, up to three times a day.
• Completing a Quest awards 200, 500, or 1000 XP based on its size.

Usage

XP can be used to advance Tier rewards in the Brawl Pass. Each Tier unlocks rewards such as Coins, Gems, Credits, Power Points, Bling, Skins, and other items can be obtained. It takes 50 to 950 XP to progress one Tier, with each Tier requiring a greater number of XP. The bonus Starr Drops at the end of the Brawl Pass require 1600 XP each.

XP Doublers

You can buy XP Doublers (formerly Token Doublers) from the Shop to double the amount of XP earned from Quests. 1000 XP Doublers can be bought with 25 Gems. XP Doublers can also be offered in the Shop for free occasionally via the Daily Freebie, Trophy Road rewards, or as lootbox rewards (e.g. Starr Drops, Trophy Boxes, etc.). The amount of XP Doublers remaining can be seen in the Shop.

Star Tokens

This section describes content that has been replaced or removed from the game. This information is kept here for historical purposes.

Star Tokens were a special kind of Token obtained by winning an Event for the first time in a rotation, meaning a Star Tokens became available whenever a map changed. Star Tokens were used to obtain Big Boxes. Once the player had 10 Star Tokens, one Big Box was earned.

To get a Star Token from a Solo Showdown, you had to place in the top 4. For Duo Showdown, you had to place in the top 2. No matter the result, a Star Token could be obtained from Big Game, Robo Rumble, and Boss Fight. Star Tokens could not be obtained in Power Play.

In the May 2020 update, Star Tokens were removed from the game indefinitely.

Classic Brawl Event

Star Tokens were temporarily added back during the June 2024 update for the duration of the Classic Brawl event. They were earned by winning a selected Event for the first time in a rotation, from Quests, and from Challenges. These Star Tokens were used to obtain Mega Boxes. Once the player earned 12 Star Tokens, one Mega Box was awarded.

The only events that awarded a Star Token were Mirror Match, Drum Roll, Solo Showdown, Brawl Ball, Gem Grab, Wipeout/Duels, Hot Zone/Heist, and Knockout. Star Tokens refreshed daily.

Double XP Event

Once a month, there is a Double XP event. During the event, XP gain from matches are doubled. However, the Double XP event does not apply to XP Doublers, 2x XP through team play, Quest rewards, XP for tapping on a new event, or the XP from voting in maps from the Candidates of the Day slot.
