Pins are in-game cosmetics obtainable from purchasable pin packs that cost 49 gems. They appear in deals in the shop, or from the Brawl Pass as exclusive Pins. They come in various rarities, and can be used in the team/friendly game chat or in battles as emotes. You can only use 3 Brawler Pins and 2 Player Pins in battles. The 5 most recently used Pins can be used in a shortcut next to the "..." button in the chat. Unlike Player Pins, Brawler Pins are Brawler exclusive and are only available for collecting once the Brawler they’re based on is unlocked.
Pins are way of expressing emotions in the game. As Brawl Stars does not have a live in-call feature, Pins are used to express players' emotions during a match.
Obtaining Pins
- Neutral Pins specific to a Brawler are unlocked automatically once that Brawler is unlocked.
- Some Exclusive Pins are based on skins of specific Brawlers.
- Pins for Brawl Pass Skins are only available as tier rewards in Brawl Pass seasons.
- Pins for Gem Skins include both color variations for El Dragón and Prince Sprout. Dark Lord and Sakura Spike also feature a Pin.
- The Mega Box Darryl Pin was obtainable as a free gift on 17/6/2021.

- Pin Packs are sometimes featured as Brawl Pass tier rewards. In these cases, a Pin Pack is rewarded in both the free (70th tier) and paid (10th tier) version of the Brawl Pass. If you had already obtained all the Pins, you’ll receive a Big Box instead.
- Common Pins are sometimes featured in the shop for 9 Gems. Buying this guarantees a Common Pin with no other pins available in the bundle.
- Rare Pin Packs are sometimes featured in the shop for 79 Gems. Buying this guarantees 3 Rare Pins with no other pins available in the bundle.

Battle Emotes

Toggled emotes; clockwise from top left: Max's default Pin, Sad Pin, Angry Pin, Stunned Pin, GG World Finals Player Pin
In a Brawler's menu, players can select and view their Pins they can use in battle with that Brawler. Each Pin has a different and unique background corresponding to its type and rarity. Common Pins have a light blue background, Rare Pins are green, Epic Pins are purple, and Exclusive Pins are golden. The fourth and fifth emote slots are Player Pins and can be configured between a player's Player Pins. A Skin doesn’t need to be in use when using its corresponding Pins.
Pins can be used in battle as emotes by selecting the button with three dots (“…”) in the right hand side of the screen. The emote button placement can be configured in the Edit Controls screen; pressing it toggles your selected battle emotes. Emotes are visible for both teams, and have a cooldown of 10 seconds. Emotes can’t be seen when a Brawler is hidden in bushes or invisible (Leon or Sandy) and are displayed for 5 seconds. Muting emotes disables a player from using and receiving them.
Player Pins
Starting Pins
These Pins are not Brawler exclusive and are received from the start. The default Happy/Sad/Angry emotes act as replacements for their respective Brawler Pins. The respective Brawler Pins replace these three emotes automatically once collected. These Pins can be both used in matches and in a team chat except for the Ecstatic Pin, which cannot normally be used as a battle emote.
Exclusive Pins
Occasionally, special Pins that may or may not be related to Brawlers are released as part of a celebration of an event or an event itself, such as the Brawlidays, World Finals 2020 and 2021, or Lunar Brawl events.
