Angelo is an Epic Brawler who has a very long range, low health, variable damage output, and a very fast movement speed. Angelo's Trait allows them to move over water. They attack by firing a long-ranged arrow, which gradually deals more damage the more they charge their attack. For their Super, Angelo leaves a small toxic area on the ground, damaging enemies if they touch it. When Angelo stands in the area, their attack will also deal poison damage to enemies over time. Their first Gadget, Stinging Flight, launches Angelo in the air, damaging nearby enemies and healing themselves in the process. Their second Gadget, Master Fletcher, allows their next attack to pass through obstacles and pierce through enemies. Their first Star Power, Empower, allows Angelo to heal themselves over time when they are inside the Super's area of effect. Their second Star Power, Flow, increases Angelo's movement speed when hovering on water. Their Hypercharge, In My Element, allows Angelo's Super to move with them.

Attack: Take Aim

"Hold the aim to charge up your shots."

Angelo shoots a long-ranged arrow that charges to deal more damage. If the player taps on the attack joystick, Angelo only deals low damage. Aiming the attack joystick charges up Angelo's next attack. Angelo deals maximum damage in 2.5 seconds, and dragging the attack joystick back to the center and letting go will cancel their attack. If Angelo is knocked back, pulled, or stunned, the attack is cancelled. Angelo also cannot heal from auto-regeneration while charging their shot, though he is not visible in bushes. The amount of damage affects Angelo's Super charge rate.

Super: Welcome To The Swamp

"Angelo creates a poison cloud that lasts for 8 seconds and damages enemies. While in the cloud, Angelo's arrows become poisoned, dealing extra damage over time."

Angelo leaves a toxic area on the ground that lasts for 8 seconds. The damage can hit 8 times if the enemy remains standing on the area. If Angelo uses their main attack in the Super area, the attacks will deal four ticks of damage over time to enemies over 3 seconds. The damage over time does not charge Super. Each tick deals 12.5% of Angelo's attack damage.

Stinging Flight

"Fly into air for 1.0 seconds. Drains 660 health from nearby enemies on takeoff."

When used, Angelo jumps 6 tiles in the direction they are facing, similar to Brock's Rocket Laces Gadget, allowing them to jump over walls or water. If they activate it within 2.33 tiles of an enemy, Angelo will deal damage, while also healing. If required to cross over a larger number of blocks, the jumping distance will be increased up to a limit or to the nearest piece of ground. While in the air, Angelo is completely immune to all damage besides status effects and damage applied over time. This Gadget can be activated while Angelo is charging their attack but using it will reset their attack charge.

Master Fletcher

"The next Take Aim pierces enemies and the environment."

Activating this Gadget allows Angelo's next attack to pass through enemies and walls, like Mandy's Cookie Crumbs Gadget. This Gadget can be activated while Angelo is charging up their attack. A Gadget symbol will glow above Angelo's head signaling this Gadget's activation, as well as a glowing attack joystick. This Gadget's cooldown begins after the attack is used.

"Staying inside the Super will heal Angelo for 600 per second."

This Star Power allows Angelo to heal 600 health per second by standing in his Super's area-of-effect for a total of 5400 health. This Star Power does not affect allies.

Flow

"Angelo gains 25% increased movement speed after entering water."

When Angelo moves on water, their movement speed is increased by 25%.

Hypercharge: In My Element

"During Hypercharge, the Super will follow Angelo!"

When activated, Angelo's poison clouds move with them. This Hypercharge only affects the Supers that are used during its duration. Contrary to its description, any Supers used during the Hypercharge. If more than one Super is used during the Hypercharge, all of them will follow Angelo. The damage per second of the poison clouds stack, but the poison from their arrows does not. Angelo also gains a 24% speed boost, a 25% damage boost, and a 5% shield boost.

Tips

Game Modes and Maps

  • Angelo, like other shooters, is very effective in open maps. In modes like Bounty, Wipeout, and Takedown, Angelo is able to shoot from afar and deal devastating damage with his attacks and Super. This makes him a viable pick in such modes with suitable maps.
  • Angelo's Trait to walk on water makes him a good choice on maps with a lot of water. Similar to Eve, he is able to evade some damage on water (i.e. short-ranged Brawlers), and combined with his Flow Star Power, his ability to dodge shots is greatly increased.

Recommended Build

  • Angelo's Stinging Flight Gadget can be used in a variety of situations: to escape from tanks and assassins, to get close to throwers or enemies on low-health, or cross a certain area. This makes it a viable option most of the time.
  • Master Fletcher can be used as a surprise attack to enemies hiding behind walls. However, the use of this Gadget is limited and doesn't provide as much value as Stinging Flight in most cases.
  • Empower can greatly increase Angelo's survivability and stability in combat. Combined with his Hypercharge, he is able to heal himself constantly and deal increased damage to enemies. This makes it valuable in games where there is no healer in the team or when his second Star Power is ineffective.
  • Although Flow has a use case in maps with large areas of water such as Canal Grande, it is usually heavily outclassed by the consistency and effectiveness of the healing from Empower.

Strategies

  • Angelo's attack does not have to be fully charged to deal significant damage. Charging it up to around 70% will be sufficient enough to threaten enemies in order to stay at long range.
  • When the enemy walks in a zig-zag pattern to dodge Angelo's shots, consistent damage is more important than dealing high damage, so firing shots charged at about 45% to 55% will help keep their damage output consistent and prevent enemies from healing.
  • When facing enemies with low health, Angelo can get closer to make sure their fully charged shot hits to defeat the enemy. It is not always necessary to stay very far since their health is fairly high when compared with other marksman Brawlers.
  • To help teammates finish off enemies, you may get close to enemies to fire their fully charged shot and jump away using their Stinging Flight Gadget.
  • As Angelo's fully charged shot can deal high damage and even defeat Brawlers with one shot (especially paired with the Super), you should pay attention to when their shot changes in color in order to dodge effectively.
  • When facing an enemy Angelo, walk in a zig-zag pattern with sudden stops so that the enemy will be less likely to hit you.
  • Angelo can leave their Super's area of effect for a very small amount of time and still have poisoned arrows. Same thing for when the duration ends.
  • During the Mutation event, Angelo could shoot three arrows at once, and hitting a fully charged shot at point blank can do devastating damage.
