Me playing solo showdown with gale and winning 5 games in a row: pretty easy push😀.
Next game: 9 teaming crows.
Next game: 3 pams and 2 8-bits teaming😢.

I wish that there were some things that you could change in friendly games! Here is my wishlist:
1: Add modifiers in Showdown
I think we all want this to be a thing and it be cool if it could go even further so you could change how frequently they spawned!
2: Playing old game modes and maps
I know that a lot of people don't like some of the old game modes but I want to play them again and I want to see how strong some of the new brawlers are in the old game modes and maps!
3: Showdown smoke and boxes.
I already said adding modifiers but I wish I could make the showdown gas go faster or slower and/or make more or less boxes spawn.
Supercell is already on the right track, they let us remove bots so they probably are going to make more features in friendly games!
Reply if you have any other ideas for improving friendly games!

And yes, a LOT of jump pads.
Is this trend over? I don't care. I am making this post no matter what.
Imagine there is an IKE turret with 35000 health in the centre of EVERY SINGLE SHOWDOWN MAP!!! What will happen?
What if there was a map where every square is a power cube crate?
The COMPLETE USELESS STAR POWERS IN SOLO SHOWDOWN!
Surge: Serve Ice Cold allows you to get and KEEP his 1st upgrade although if you fall you can’t respawn.
Gene: Magic Puffs allows you to heal yourself and your teammates ONLY IF a teammate is near you with more than a 300 health drain and you don’t have teammates in solo showdown.
Gale: Second Wind allows you to speed up your teammates with your super if you aim it at them and it won’t speed you up. Like Magic Puffs, you don’t have teammates in solo showdown.
Poco: Da Capo allows you to heal your teammates with you main attack, but like Second Wind and Magic Puffs, you have no teammates.
LET ME KNOW IF I MISSED ANY AND THANKS FOR READING THIS!
The following guide is a break down of Solo Showdown (SSD), in which my aim is to dissect each aspect of competitive Showdown.
Table of contents:
Discovering Modifiers ✔
The Art of Camping ✔
Taking Advantage of Positioning
This guide is by no means a guide on how to win in SSD, but rather, a documentary of the various aspects of it thereof. If you're looking to achieve R35, you might want to search elsewhere.
Also, important note: this guide will not cover SD below 800 🏆, due to the word "competitive" in the title. So this means that playstyles like MoneyCapital will be ignored.
Another important note is that I am by no means a SD main, however, this guide will be vetted by Mugi (his stats here), who has 6k SSD wins & 4 R35s.
I'm going to assume that the majority of players are 3v3 players, which is good since a majority of tourneys are done in 3v3s. That said, SSD is an untouched subject, & is something worth noting. Before we document the guide, we need to first establish what the title means.
Firstly, "competitive". This refers to the state where each player in the lobby knows what they're doing. For ease of use, we'll refer to "competitive" as games above 800 trophies.
Secondly, "SSD". A 10 player Solo mode. This means that I will not be covering Duos here. If this entire series does well, I'll be doing a guide for Duos as well.
A build can be defined as a construct to the game before the start of a match. An example of a build is Kairos' video here.
In SSD, a build consists of a brawler & its SPs & Gadgets. In general, the rule of thumb is to use:
Passive SP / Gadget. This implies that it is commonly used. An example of this is Jacky's Hardy Hard Hat.
Survival SP / Gadget. This refers to anything that increases your lifespan. For example, 8-Bit's Extra Life & Bea's Honeycoat.
If you you fail to build, you build to fail.
Anyone can build properly. Consult BrawlStats if you're stuck.
Currently, there are 4 modifers. This consists of None, Energy Drink, Robo Boss, Healing Mushrooms, Meteor Shower.
None. Probably the most predictable match. Extremely boring, but it's recommended that you push here, due to the fact that it's consistent. Low RNG, stable spawns, do go a long way when a player is pushing R35 in Solos.
Energy Drink (ED). Undoubtedly the most RNG mod, players may want to adopt camping, as players with ED will rampage throughout the map. Skirting the perimeter of the poison (ie staying as close to poison as possible)*.
Robo Boss. Despite it being RNG, it is an extremely effective mod to gain trophies. Key point to note is that the first boss doesn't spawn within 5 tiles of the mid, so it is advised to stay as far away from the mid as possible.
Healing Mushrooms. Definitely the most pervasive for teaming. Any brawler that teams will do well here. Tanks will also do well as long as they travel in herd (ie. team).
Meteor Shower. While created as a response to widespread teaming, it is mostly accepted that this mod has been extremely ineffective at combating it. A general guideline would be to follow the game play of None, however, fast Builds will do better due to better dodging.
The Art of Camping:
An entire post can be made revolving around camping, however, I'll summarize this for 1 reason: camping is largely ineffective in competitive Solos. Despite this, there are a few takeaways, which are extremely adequate especially in ED.
As shown in the diagram, Pink isn't an ideal place to camp as it's exposed towards the centre bush. In contrast, Red is far more ideal as the walls serve as a "meat shield". From this we can deduce 2 criteria for a good bush:
The bush must be in the perimeter. This isn't as obvious, but players who camp in centre / side bushes will inevitably be pinched & sandwiched, thus making themselves vulnerable.
The bush must be surrounded by an L-shape wall. L-shape walls > Square-shape walls as L-shape walls provide more surface area.
End of Part 1:
It'll be greatly appreciated if you follow my socials on Insta & Twitter.
Sources (in chronological order):
No, not actual sandwich. Am talking about the Showdown sandwich.
Imagine that you are playing Showdown, collecting power cubes. When suddenly, a wild Surge teleports to get you. You run and run. But a wild Crow Ka-kaws out of the bushes. Now you are the meat that is between two pieces of bread.
I'm really having a bad time because of that :(
I guess that these Brawlers can survive this situation:
El Primo: ELLLLLLLLL PRIMO!
Nani: Gadget :)
Max: I'm fast as f&%k boi.
Piper: you have been Pipered (Umbrella jump)
Bea: DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF BEES
Solo showdown needs a rework.
First, change that robot modifier into something else, like maybe steel boxes (credit for u/ComboStrike) that have 10K health, and spawns 3 power cubes. (*sad poco noises*)
Second is the teamers. If i'm one of Brawl Stars devs, I would make another modifier: Social Distancing. (credit to u/KraxTheNoob) So If you spin with the other guy in a radius of maximum 10 blocks, then you and your teammate will start to lose health of 2% per second.
Third, well you know. I know the purpose of the solo is to survive as long as you can, but maybe I could suggest a feature (it's not modifiers, credit to u/EnderFrost36) So if you eliminate somebody else, you'll have an extra of 1 trophy, and also to help pushing when you get that boring little quests.
